Automations: A No-Code Rules Engine for Orders & Shipments
2 min read
Automations is a no-code rules engine: pick a trigger, add conditions, and choose actions that run automatically. Use it to tag VIP buyers, blocklist serial returners, note high-value COD orders or auto-assign a courier — so routine decisions happen the instant an order or shipment changes.
Triggers — when a rule runs
A rule fires on one of three events as it happens across your channels.
- Order placed — when a new order is created.
- Order status changed — when an order moves (for example to confirmed/booked).
- Shipment status changed — when a courier updates a shipment (in transit, delivered, returned).
Conditions — when a rule matches
Add as many conditions as you like; all must be true for the rule to act (no conditions means it always runs). Each compares a field with an operator and a value.
- Fields — channel, order total, COD amount, city, status, items count, courier, plus customer risk, whether the customer is blocklisted, and whether they are a returning buyer.
- Operators — equals, not equals, greater/less than (and or-equal), contains, and in (a comma-separated list).
- Example — channel equals Shopify AND COD amount greater than 10,000 AND customer risk equals high.
Actions — what a rule does
When a rule matches, it runs its actions in order. Actions tie straight into your Customers CRM and courier booking.
- Tag customer — add a label to the customer profile.
- Blocklist customer — flag a serial returner with a reason.
- Add note — attach an internal note to the order.
- Assign courier — book a shipment with a chosen courier (skipped automatically if the customer is blocklisted or already shipped).

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to write code?
No. Rules are built entirely from dropdowns — pick a trigger, conditions and actions; nothing technical required.
Which plans include Automations?
It is available on Growth and higher plans; the Customers CRM it works with is included on every plan.
What happens if several rules match the same event?
Rules run in priority order, highest first, and each one’s actions run independently. A failing rule is logged and never blocks the others.
Troubleshooting
A rule never fires.
Check it is switched on, that its trigger matches the event you expect, and that every condition can actually be true together.
An assign-courier action did nothing.
It is skipped when the customer is blocklisted or the order already has a shipment — both are by design.
